knights logo shadow 180pxThe Knights of Columbus  is a fraternal organization based on the principles of charity, unity, fraternalism, and patriotism. Thanks to the efforts of Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven and some of his parishioners, the Connecticut state legislature on March 29, 1882, officially chartered the Knights of Columbus as a fraternal benefit society.

The Knights of Columbus has grown from several members in one council to more than 14,000 councils and 1.8 million members throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Cuba, Guatemala, Guam and Saipan.

Our council, Cloverdale Council, was chartered in 1979 at Precious Blood Parish. Our council has served Precious Blood Parish and the surrounding community over the years by providing both financial support and volunteer service. Some of our more popular events in the parish include the monthly Pancake Breakfasts as well as our annual Oktemberfest dinner/dance. Our Gift Certificate Program is a major fundraiser.

Our council has contributed to the following charities among others:

- Precious Blood Parish
- Cloverdale Catholic School
- Surrey-Delta Pro-Life Society
- Signal Hill
- CERC (Catholic Education Resource Center)
- .NET Ministries Canada
- Catholic Christian Outreach
- Saint Vincent de Paul Society
- Columbus Charities Association
- Redeemer Pacific College
- and many more
